About Nyege Nyege Festival

Nyege Nyege returns to the Adrift Overland Camp outside Jinja from 19 to 22 November 2026, four days on the banks of the Nile beside the Kalagala Falls. The festival has become the most important event in African electronic music since it started in 2015, and the site on the river is a large part of why.

The programming is the point of difference. Nyege Nyege books across the continent and beyond, pulling singeli from Tanzania, gqom from South Africa, shangaan electro, Ugandan acholi, kuduro, techno and experimental work onto the same weekend, and the associated label has put several of those artists on the international circuit. The festival’s own films from recent editions capture the scale better than any description.

Early bird Die Hard tickets were 100,000 Ugandan shillings, around 27 US dollars, with sales running to 30 September before tiers rose. Jinja is around 90 minutes east of Kampala by road and two hours from Entebbe International, and the organisers publish travel and accommodation information on the festival site. Camping at Adrift is part of the experience rather than an add on. It is the most adventurous music festival in Africa by a wide margin.
