About Liquid Spirit
Liquid Spirit Gozo runs from 8pm on Thursday 16 September to 3am on Tuesday 21 September 2027, taking over the smaller of Malta’s two main islands for a long weekend of soulful dance music. The format is unusual: rather than a single site, the festival stages a run of pop up events in villas, clubs, beaches, pools, restaurants and on boats, and attendees dip in and out across the days.
The music is specific. The programming covers soul, R and B, funk, boogie, disco, soulful house and classic house, with daytime sessions warmer and more soulful and the evenings moving into deeper house. The organisers are explicit that the focus is musical quality and the shared dancefloor rather than mainstream nightlife, and the international bill is DJ led throughout.
Accommodation is central to the model, with the festival working directly with the BLOCK and REEF hotels on Gozo and publishing a Gozo Edit guidebook alongside advice on booking flights. Gozo is reached by ferry from Cirkewwa on Malta, around 25 minutes, with Malta International Airport an hour from the terminal. The 2027 line up had not been published at the time of writing. For soulful house on a Mediterranean island, it is a genuinely different kind of music festival.
