About Kapital Festival
Kapital returns to the National Arena in Bucharest from 2 to 4 July 2027, three days inside Romania’s largest stadium. The festival is run by the team behind UNTOLD and Neversea, and its first edition drew more than 152,000 people to the arena, which made it one of the biggest debuts the Romanian calendar has seen.
That opening bill was built on names including Axwell, Paul Kalkbrenner, Alok, Salvatore Ganacci, Steve Aoki, Charlotte de Witte and Nina Kraviz, pairing mainstage electronic music with a harder techno strand. The organisers have since said they want the event to work as a wider city festival rather than a purely electronic one, with live acts on a mainstage powered by UNTOLD alongside the club bookings, extra stages and activations spread around the arena.
The second edition was originally planned for 2026 and was moved to 2027. The organisers pointed to delayed legislative changes affecting what can be staged at the National Arena, the economic climate, political instability and higher taxation on events as the reasons. Passes bought for the postponed edition carry over. The National Arena sits in the Sector 2 district and is served by the Bucharest metro, with the city centre around 20 minutes away.
