About Festival Week-end au bord de l’eau
Festival Week-end au bord de l’eau marks its 20th edition from 24 to 27 June 2027 on the shore of Lake Geronde in Sierre, in the Swiss canton of Valais. The event has run since 2006 and has stayed deliberately small, built around the emerald water of the lake and the Valais peaks that rise behind it rather than around a headline booking.
The programme is broader than a straight music festival. Alongside the stages, the four days carry circus performances, street art, visual art installations, workshops and activities aimed at families and at mixed age groups, plus a local produce market and a sustainability strand that runs through the site. The organisers describe the result as intimate and authentic, and the event has built an audience that travels in from across Europe while keeping a local character.
The festival is run by the Fondation Week-end au bord de l’eau, a non profit foundation, and the setting at Lake Geronde is a short walk from the centre of Sierre. The town is on the main rail line through the Rhone valley, with direct trains from Geneva, Lausanne, Bern and Zurich, which makes the site unusually easy to reach without a car. Festival passes for the 20th edition went on sale on 1 October 2026 and the 2027 lineup had not been published at the time of writing. More Alpine summer dates are listed on our music festival page.
