About Eternal Sun
Eternal Sun returns to Sougia on the south west coast of Crete from 3 to 5 September 2027, running three days in a village at the end of a long gorge road on the Libyan Sea. Sougia is a settlement of a few hundred people with a pebble beach and a single road in, which makes it one of the more remote festival locations in the Mediterranean.
The festival works at the scale the village allows, which is small. Programming covers house and the deeper end of electronic music, running across the day and into the night with the sea on one side and the White Mountains behind. September on Crete still carries summer temperatures with the peak season crowds gone, which is a large part of why the organisers chose the date.
Tickets are listed through Resident Advisor and the official site, and the organisers publish accommodation guidance given how limited the options are in Sougia itself: a handful of small hotels and rooms, with Paleochora and Chania the nearest alternatives. Chania airport is around two hours away by road over the mountains. The 2027 line up had not been published at the time of writing. For a small Greek island music festival, it is about as far off the circuit as it gets.
