EMEC Festival (Arrecife, Spain) 2026

EMEC holds its eighth edition at the Castillo de San Jose in Arrecife on Saturday 7 November 2026, running from 3pm to midnight. The castle is an eighteenth century fortress on the cliffs above the Atlantic, rebuilt by Cesar Manrique in the 1970s as the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporaneo, and it is the reason the festival exists in the form it does.

The name stands for ecology, music, electronica and culture, and the organisers treat all four as the programme rather than the music alone. Sunset over the Atlantic falls inside the running time, which they describe as part of the line up. Marco Faraone and Chelina Manuhutu are the first two names confirmed, with the rest announced in phases.

Capacity is tightly limited. The early bird allocation sold out in 24 hours without reaching public sale, with phase one set at 500 tickets for 38 euros released first to the mailing list and then to the public. Lanzarote is served directly from most of western Europe through Arrecife airport, 15 minutes from the castle, and the organisers encourage visitors to stay for the weekend rather than the day. For a boutique island music festival, the setting has no real equivalent.
