Camp Wonkru (Hammonton, NJ, United States) 2027

Camp Wonkru returns to the pine woods of Hammonton, New Jersey from 16 to 18 July 2027, three days and three nights of underground dance music staged by the New York collective Nocturnal Creature Society. The organisers keep the exact site under wraps and publish it only on the day of the event, a deliberate nod to the secret party culture the crew grew out of. Camping is the default rather than an upgrade, and every ticket carries the same access.

The site runs to more than 100 acres and carries three stages that play through the night, alongside workshops, art installations, performances, vendors and open activity areas. There are no VIP sections and no day passes, a format the organisers describe as a return to the roots of rave culture rather than a tiered festival ticket. Programming leans on independent electronic labels and on crews from New York, Boston and Philadelphia who normally work in warehouses and pop up spaces.

Nocturnal Creature Society launched Camp Wonkru in 2025 at Echo Lake in Afton, New York, billing it as a summer camp for ravers, then moved the weekend to the New Jersey pinelands. The booking policy mixes veteran DJs with roots in the large European events and clubs such as Limelight, The Tunnel and Webster Hall with newer underground names. Entry is restricted to over 18s and valid photo identification is required at the gate. Anyone planning a longer summer run can compare it against the rest of the calendar on our music festival listings.
