Audio Obscura Festival (Rotterdam, Netherlands) 2027

Audio Obscura Festival returns to the Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam on 28 August 2027, running from midday to 11pm inside a UNESCO World Heritage listed factory. The building is a landmark of modernist architecture, built between 1925 and 1931 as a tobacco, coffee and tea plant with glass curtain walls and elevated conveyor bridges, and it is as much the point of the event as the bill is.

That is the Audio Obscura method. The Dutch promoter has spent more than a decade putting dance music into spaces that normally refuse it: the Rijksmuseum, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam Centraal station, the Gashouder and a succession of industrial halls. The festival in Rotterdam is the largest of those, with multiple stages built into the factory’s halls and courtyards.

Pre registration opens ahead of each ticket release through the official site, and the promoter also runs regular programming at The Loft and RAWFACTORY in Amsterdam, De Nieuwe Kerk and a full schedule during Amsterdam Dance Event. The Van Nelle Fabriek sits in the Spaanse Polder district, around 15 minutes from Rotterdam Centraal. The 2027 line up had not been published at the time of writing. For architecture and dance music together, it is the Dutch music festival with the clearest idea.
