This year, Anyma—co-founder of Afterlife Records and mastermind behind the immersive Genesys audiovisual shows—headlined 808 Festival, marking the first-ever Southeast Asian presentation of his full-scale live production. Known for blurring the lines between music and digital art, Anyma’s performance surpassed the expectations to redefine what’s possible at a music festival stage in the region.
Joined him were a stellar cast of globally renowned artists: James Hype, the UK hit-maker with an ear for crowd-shaking remixes; Mau P, Amsterdam’s fast-rising tech-house star; and Miss Monique, the Ukrainian progressive icon with a global following. Fans of hard-hitting techno were thrilled to witness Sara Landry and Adam Beyer, two titans of the genre known for commanding dancefloors with relentless energy and precision.
In a testament to the festival’s genre versatility, the iconic Chase & Status brought up their explosive live show to Bangkok, while melodic techno maestro Massano, future bass innovator San Holo, and Drumcode’s own Bart Skils round out the first phase of a formidable lineup last year.
