About The Dolphin

The Dolphin, also called The Dolphin Tavern, is a bar and dance club at 1539 South Broad Street in South Philadelphia. The venue describes itself as a cross between a dive bar, tavern and lounge. Before it reopened in 2013, it was a go-go bar and the first stop for sailors coming into port at the Navy Yard. It is run by FCM Hospitality and opens on Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm to 2am. The programme is built on themed dance nights: Rhythm of the Night plays 90s house, UK garage and trance and marked its eighth anniversary in September 2026 with Joey Beltram, while ABBARAMA runs all-vinyl ABBA and 70s disco nights. Trance, queer club and bass nights fill the rest of the calendar, with guests such as Plastician and Jeffrey Sfire.
