About Funke

Funke is a bar, small nightclub and art space on the Bij Sint-Jacobs square in the centre of Ghent. It fills three floors of a 19th-century building that was once a townhouse, a furniture shop called Meubelen Rita, a people's café and a brown pub, with an interior designed by Simon Heyde. Besides the club room there is Het Verdiep, a floor used for exhibitions, plus many small nooks. Funke opens Thursday to Saturday from 6pm for bar nights, with club nights from 11pm. The October 2026 programme leans on minimal, with Moodfamily, Yami Records and a Funke club night, alongside hardcore, tekno, hypnotic techno with 93c, hardgroove and the queer party Supergay. Its resident DJs include Ampe, Timmerman, Godero and Corvus Ex, and the club has a no-photos policy.
