About DNA Lounge

DNA Lounge is a nightclub at 375 Eleventh Street in San Francisco's SoMa district, open since 22 November 1985. Jamie Zawinski, a former Netscape programmer, bought it in 1999, reopened it in July 2001 after a long remodel and soundproofing, and in 2012 merged it with the pizza restaurant next door. The club has two stages, four dance floors, six bars and a late-night restaurant: a main room with a balcony on three sides, an upstairs lounge with its own dance floor and sound system, and Above DNA, a smaller live room. Programming is eclectic, mixing all-ages live music, 18+ dance parties, burlesque and lectures, with regular nights such as Death Guild and the Monday Night Hubba burlesque show. DNA Lounge has webcast its events since 2001.
