UMBRA Festival (Agolada, Spain) 2027

UMBRA returns to the Pantalan de Brocos in Agolada from 30 July to 2 August 2027, and the closing morning is the reason to pay attention. On 2 August a solar eclipse crosses the Iberian peninsula, and over this corner of Galicia the Moon will cover around three quarters of the Sun. The partial phase begins at 09:45, reaches maximum at 10:47 and ends at 11:56, and the festival has built a special morning session beside the reservoir to run through it.

The rest of the weekend is a boutique electronic festival on two stages, set on the water in the province of Pontevedra. The 2026 edition gives a clear read on the curation: Praslea, Priku, Mihai Pol, Sepp, Sublee, Alexis Cabrera live, Mischa Blanos, Cezar, Coozy and Marques Sigi among more than 30 names, which places it squarely in the hypnotic and organic end of contemporary house and minimal rather than the festival mainstream.

The first names for 2027 were due to be announced shortly after this page was published, with tickets sold through Weeztix. The totality band for the 2 August eclipse runs across the south of the peninsula, more than a thousand kilometres away, so Brocos sees a deep partial rather than a full eclipse. Agolada sits inland between Santiago de Compostela and Lugo, around an hour from Santiago airport. It is a Galician music festival timed around an astronomical event.
