About Sonar
Sonar returns to Istanbul on 9 and 10 April 2027, the Turkish edition of the Barcelona festival of music, innovation and creativity. Advanced Music have run Sonar since 1994 and the international editions carry the same three part brief rather than functioning as touring line ups.
Istanbul has hosted the festival across several editions, with past years staged at PSM in the Zorlu Center. The city is an unusually good fit for the Sonar format, with a creative technology sector and an electronic scene that has grown largely on its own terms.
Programme and ticket details are published through the Istanbul site. The city has two international airports, with Istanbul Airport connected to the centre by metro, and Turkish prices keep a weekend well below the western European equivalent. Early April in Istanbul is mild at around 15 degrees with the Bosphorus at its best before the summer crowds. For a Turkish music festival with international standing, Sonar Istanbul is the one.
