Shutdown Festival (Zwentendorf an der Donau, Austria) 2027

Shutdown Festival returns to Zwentendorf an der Donau on 7 August 2027, running a single day of electronic music on the Danube west of Vienna. It has become one of the largest one day festivals in Austria, which the numbers on its own aftermovies back up: the 2018 film has passed 470,000 views, with the 2024 and 2025 editions clearing 178,000 and 245,000 respectively.

The programming sits in hard techno, hardstyle and big room electronic music, with a production built around a single large main stage and supporting areas. The organisers publish a full official aftermovie after every edition, which doubles as the festival’s main marketing and gives a clear picture of the scale year on year.

Tickets are sold through the festival’s own shop in tiered releases, with the 2027 phases opening well ahead of the line up. Zwentendorf sits around 50 kilometres west of Vienna in Lower Austria, close to Tulln on the Danube, with the capital the obvious base given the one day format. The 2027 bill had not been published at the time of writing. For Austrian hard dance, it is the music festival that draws the biggest single day crowd.
