About Bazique Festival
Bazique returns to Tulbagh from 5 to 7 March 2027, a three day camping festival of art and music in the Western Cape. The organisers describe it as a collaboration between like minded Cape Town promoters along with hundreds of creatives, musicians, installation artists, performers and workers.
That collaborative model is unusual and it shows in the site: rather than a single promoter’s vision, Bazique is built from many, which produces an art programme and a set of stages with genuinely different characters. Void Acoustics have supplied the sound at recent editions.
Tickets are sold through Howler. Tulbagh sits in a valley enclosed by mountains on three sides, around 90 minutes north of Cape Town, in one of the oldest wine growing areas in South Africa. Early March in the Tulbagh valley is the end of the Cape summer, hot and dry with the harvest finishing. The festival publishes an official aftermovie for each edition. For a South African art and music festival, Bazique has the widest creative base.
