About Volnost

Volnost is a techno club on Itaewon-ro in Seoul's Itaewon district, founded in 2017 by DJs Comarobot, Si Jin and DK. Its name comes from the Czech word for free. The first room, a small space nicknamed the wood cave, held about 40 people; in late 2023 the club moved into a whole two-storey building nearby, with a bar on the ground floor and the second floor given over to the dancefloor and a Martin Audio THV, SXH218 and XP15 system, for about 80 people per floor. The programme is purist techno, from hypnotic and minimal to hard and industrial, with house in warm-ups and after-hours. Weekly nights include Thursday Volnost and Volnost Night, plus guest crews. Phone cameras are covered and photos are not allowed upstairs.
