About Potato Head Beach Club
Potato Head Beach Club is the beach club of Desa Potato Head, a hotel and creative village on Petitenget Beach in Seminyak, on Bali's west coast. It opened in 2010 as the Bali outpost of Potato Head, a restaurant and bar brand launched in Jakarta in 2009 by Ronald Akili's PTT Family. The building, designed by Indonesian architect Andra Matin, has an amphitheatre-shaped facade made from about 6,600 reclaimed wooden window shutters, and looks over an infinity pool, lawn and daybeds towards the Indian Ocean.
Resident DJs play every day, moving from Balearic sounds to disco and house as the sun goes down, and on Fridays the Archipelago Ensemble brings Indonesian musicians, dancers and collectives to the Beach Club. After dark the music moves to Klymax, the village's discotheque, a room conceived by DJ Harvey with speakers built by George Stavro on Richard Long's design and a sprung wooden floor, open on Friday and Saturday nights. The Beach Club has no dress code and welcomes families and pets.
