About Kendwa Rocks

Kendwa Rocks is a beach hotel on Kendwa Beach in the north of Zanzibar and the home of the island's monthly Full Moon Party. The party began in 1996 as a beach-fire gathering of friends and guests with drums and acrobatics, and it now draws thousands of people on the Saturday closest to each full moon. Gates open at 19:00 with a BBQ buffet, the main stage on the sand runs until about 04:00, and the hotel's nightclub then hosts an afterparty until 06:00. DJs play Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house, alongside live bands, fire shows, dancers and acrobats, and VIP tables can be booked. Outside party nights, The Rocks Lounge Club opens on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 22:00, and a bonfire is lit on the beach every sunset.
