About Altenburg 1964

Altenburg 1964 is a bar, stage and club on a cargo ship moored on the Vltava at Partyzánská 18/23 in Holešovice, Prague 7. The boat is an Elbe cargo ship of the Bělas type, 66.94 m long and 8.19 m wide, built in 1964 at the Boizenburg shipyard in northern Germany. It carried cargo on the Elbe and the Rhine for 50 years, was stopped on its way to the scrapyard in winter 2017, repaired and moored in Holešovice; the project began in 2018 and returned in 2022 with a new crew and setup. The programme mixes the independent guitar and electronic scenes, from sunset DJ sets to Acid Waves, Sachsentrance and Queer Bazaar nights, with 51 RA-listed events in 2026. The bar serves local beer, cider, wine and homemade ice cream from April to October.
