SONICA Festival (Ljubljana, Slovenia) 2026

Sonica runs across Ljubljana from 5 to 14 November 2026, ten days of sound art, experimental music and audiovisual work spread across venues in the Slovenian capital rather than concentrated on a single site. The festival has run since 2003 and sits closer to the European art music circuit than to the club calendar.

Three dates anchor the programme. On 6 November the Trnovo Church hosts Fuji||||||||||ta, the Japanese artist who builds and plays his own pipe organs, with Simina Oprescu. On 12 November Kino Siska brings Marina Herlop, the Catalan composer whose work sits between classical vocal technique and electronic production, with Estelle Schorpp and Charline Dally and Litost. On 14 November Channel Zero hosts Vladimir Ivkovic, Black Dot and Zven for the club end of the programme.

A full festival ticket is 48 euros at the early bird rate, with single dates sold separately at 15 euros for Trnovo Church, 26 for Kino Siska and 18 for Channel Zero. Ljubljana is compact enough that all the venues are within reach on foot or a short bus ride, and the city’s airport is 25 minutes away. For anyone whose interest in a music festival runs past four to the floor, this is the November date.
