About Zouk
Zouk opened in March 1991 in three restored 1919 riverside warehouses on Jiak Kim Street, designed and launched by Lincoln Cheng, and grew into Singapore's best known club brand with the rooms Velvet Underground and Phuture added in the 1990s. In December 2016 it moved to The Cannery at 3C River Valley Road in Clarke Quay, where the complex now holds the Zouk main room, Phuture and the Capital lounge.
The main room holds over 1,500 people and is reached through a lit sculptural tunnel into a neo-industrial space with a multi-level dancefloor and a customised Gary Stewart analog sound system. Programming mixes international guest DJs across house, EDM and open format with regular Wednesday TGIW nights and big Halloween parties. The brand was sold to Genting Hong Kong in 2015 and to Tulipa, owned by Lim Keong Hui, in 2020, and the group also runs ZoukOut and clubs abroad.
