Paul Kalkbrenner – Remixes Playlist on Spotify

Few producers get to rework a Leonard Cohen song. Paul Kalkbrenner – Remixes gathers his remix work in one place, and it is curated by Paul Kalkbrenner himself, who describes it as all of his remixes in one playlist.

The list pairs his own name with Simina Grigoriu, 2raumwohnung, Michel Cleis, Totó La Momposina, NTO, Kid Simius, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Moe Danger, Stromae, Leonard Cohen and Moby. Highlights include “Techno Monkey – Paul Kalkbrenner Remix” by Simina Grigoriu, “Te Quiero – Paul Kalkbrenner Remix” by Stromae and “2000007 – Paul Kalkbrenner’s Tap Some Bong 2009 Remix” by Modeselektor.

The sound is melodic, warm and cinematic, with long builds that stretch past the six and seven minute mark. It works for a focused evening, a late warm-up or a slow drive. Twenty tracks and 2 h 27 min make it an easy, complete sit-down listen.
