About Kokorico

Kokorico is a large discotheque at Grote Baan 271 in Lievegem, on the N9 road between Ghent and Eeklo in East Flanders. The building was a nightlife venue before, as Venus, Bolero and briefly Goodies, and after a thorough renovation it reopened as Kokorico in September 1995. A Vickers Viscount airliner, first flown in 1958 and later used by British Midland Airways, has stood beside the club since that opening. Two more rooms were built behind the original hall in 2002, and today Kokorico has three rooms and a restaurant, with a rotating light ceiling, moving dance lifts, disappearing walls and special effects. The music is mainly dance and R&B, with hip hop nights and retro house parties, and the club marks its 31st birthday on 2 and 3 October 2026.
