Answer: “Criticism and societal expectations have been my greatest challenges, especially coming from a culture that often frowns upon success and being famous. I’ve faced criticism for embracing social media and living my life openly, but I overcame this by staying true to myself and my beliefs. I believe in respecting everyone and my own dreams; I don’t let others’ judgment bring me down. Staying focused on my passion and surrounding myself with supportive people has been essential.”
5- How do you aim to interact and communicate with your audience or viewers throughout your life?
Answer: “Music is a universal way of communicating and connecting with people. It fits me perfectly as I love entertaining people. I want my audience to feel joy and inspiration. Showing them that living passionately is the key to happiness and they can also achieve these dreams if they believe it themselves. At the core, I believe that the ability to show and share things is a beautiful thing we all can do together.”
6- How has your artistic approach or style evolved over time?
Answer: “My style has evolved a lot over the years. I’ve embraced many different parts of music and entertainment that intrigue me, from DJing other artists to producing my own tracks; my style evolved to include a mix of genres and styles from all over. The main outcome is I’ve learned to approach each project with the same energy I bring to all my live performances.”
7- Which of your works holds a special meaning for you and why?
Answer: “If I had to choose one, opening the Mi Gente video was special to me as it was a moment of collaboration and friendship. J Balvin and I share an amazing friendship, and the video was a testament to bringing different genres of music together, building on this connection.”
8- What are your thoughts on the role and impact of your life in society?
Answer: “I’ve had people criticize me for showing my life on Instagram, but at the same time, I’ve also had people stop me on the street and thank me for believing in my dreams. I believe my role is to inspire others to live boldly. I’ve succeeded if my videos, music, or lifestyle can encourage someone to pursue their dreams.”
9- What does your creative process look like, and do you have any routines or rituals when working on a piece?
Answer: “My creative process begins with movement. I found that dancing is a way to free my mind and let inspiration flow. From there, I like to immerse myself in music and work closely with my team to develop new tracks or plan upcoming live shows. My routine mainly involves being spontaneous while staying focused on my goal.”
10- What are some projects or goals you hope to achieve with your life in the future?
Answer: “I’m working on lots of new music, and I’ve even launched a new record label, Mundo Paralelo, through which we aim to connect with young and cool Latin and Afro artists creating groovy music from around the world. I’d love to help more up-and-coming artists achieve their goals and give them a platform.”
