DISTORTION FESTIVAL

(1 – 4 June, Copenhagen, Denmark)

Distortion Festival is a five day journey through Copenhagen, celebrating the extraordinary atmosphere, music and spaces of the Danish capital. The festival is a collection of parties, that run throughout the city, bringing over 100,000 people and is best described as orchestrated chaos.

Featuring over 300 concerts and DJ sets, Distortion Festival has a sprawling multi-genre lineup to soundtrack street parties all over the city.

Copenhagen’s Nørrebro and Vesterbro areas morph into packed, semi-chaotic dance arenas, as the city comes to life with truly unique character.

june1UNUM FESTIVAL

(1 – 6 June, Shengjin, Albania)

UNUM Festival is a house and techno festival, returning for a fourth time upon the shores of Shëngjin in Albania.

The golden beach of Rana e Hedhun is the place where the festival will host 50 international and local acts over the course of 5 days and 4 nights.

Chief amongst them is UNUM Festival’s Pine Stage, which has become one of underground music’s most iconic settings. It is a secluded paradise surrounded by awe-inspiring nature and the sweet smell of pine, all with the finest DJs in the world laying down compelling sounds. As well as this there is music on the grand Main Stage and a wealth of beach parties that take advantage of the stunning sunsets and sunrises with DJs providing special musical memories to go with.

The town of Shengjin has long gold-sandy beaches and dusty landscapes that are a million miles away from everyday reality. It allows for non-stop music night and day, plus a fine array of heart-racing water sports, mouthwatering local food and drink offerings and plenty of isolated bays and secluded woodland areas to explore.

(2 – 3 June, Belfast, UK)

AVA Festival is a cutting-edge house and techno music festival in the Northern Ireland capital of Belfast.

Belfast’s foremost electronic and visual arts festival returns for 2023, following a huge year at the idyllic Titanic Slipways in the heart of the city’s docklands. Featuring renowned international artists alongside the finest local DJ’s and live acts, talent will be showcased in the stunning audio/visual style that has become synonymous with the festival’s summer starting weekender.

In 2022 AVA Festival was described as ”one of the world’s most exciting electronic music festivals” by Mixmag, this year will see AVA push the boundaries of electronic music further than ever before whilst also providing a broader offering of genres with each iteration of the festival to reflect the increasingly diverse sound of the city.

june2AMSTERDAM OPEN AIR

(2 – 3 June, Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Amsterdam Open Air Festival is an electronic music, arts and culinary festival which takes place in Gaasperpark. A collaboration between Amsterdams hottest promoters, the festival is spread over two days of food, tunes and visual aesthetics.

Across nine stages, Amsterdam Open Air Festival presents a fashion forward lineup which presents underground, up and coming artists and international top artists. Previous lineups have included Claptone, Netsky and Broederliefde.

Now on its milestone 10th Anniversary, Collaborators from Dutch musicians, artists, fashionistas and culinary wizards come together for this double day of fun.

(2 – 4 June, Grantham, UK)

Forbidden Forest is an intimate underground music event, returning to the Midlands for another weekend of wonder and for the 8th year of Forbidden adventure’s of raving amongst the trees.

On Friday 2nd June until Sunday 4th, a Kaleidoscope colours and sound waves of bass will fill the night sky above Belvoir Castle once again!

Forbidden Forest’s lineup is annually comprised of some of the most respected and influential DJs and producers from the Techno, House, Drum & Bass and Disco scene. The 2023 Lineup is insane and will blow you away, so lock the dates in your diary, this is going to be a journey of epic proportions and not one to be missed.

Forbidden Forest offers on-site camping, a 24-hour market place with gourmet food stalls, out of town shopping and secure on-site lockers. Camping Plus packages will also be available with showers, luxury toilets and pamper rooms with hair dryers and straighteners.

june3EMPORIUM FESTIVAL

(3 June, Wijchen, Netherlands)

Emporium Festival is a dance music festival in Wijchen. Welcoming over 25,000 visitors to the festival each year, previous editions have been centred around ‘Hollywood’, ‘Fairytales’, ‘The Roman Empire’ and ‘The Zoo’.

The festival is one of many events in the Netherlands, that hosts a unique lineup each year, made up of primarily Dutch artists. The Dutch love harder styles and there are four stages dedicated exclusively to hardstyle, hardcore, raw style and free style. Different house and dance styles are played across different locations.

In addition to the music, you can also enjoy the animal kingdom at the most beautiful zoo in the Netherlands, which can be found at De Berendonck. Polar bears, dolphins, elephants and so much more are all waiting for you!

june3909 FESTIVAL

(3 – 4 June, Amsterdam, Netherlands)

909 Festival is a celebration of all things techno in Amsterdam. Started in 2011, the festival is now heading into its 11th anniversary edition.

Taking the music out of its normal dark, underground clubs for the occasion, 909 Festival is set in the scenic woods of Amsterdamse Bos.

Growing to three stages last year to allow more quality techno to make it onto the lineup, the festival has gone to great length to ensure its original intimate vibe stays intact.

(3 – 4 June, Arnhem, Netherlands)

Free your Mind Festival is a dance music festival, one of the most established festivals in the Netherlands.

Every year they curate a lineup consisting of house and techno DJ legends alongside underground and up and coming artists. A national favourite for music lovers and ravers alike, Free your Mind Festival gives you a splash of celebrated works alongside something new for you to discover.

Free Your Mind Festival takes place on one of The Netherlands most unique festival grounds in Arnhem. The beautiful surroundings are an integral part of the festival combining the monumental river Rhine and the alluring forests and beaches with the industrial landmark, Arnhem’s John Frost bridge. This combination has inspired years of joy, friendships and good music.

(3 – 10 June, Novalja, Croatia)

Beach Bites Beats is a week-long electronic music festival in Novalja, Croatia that occupies Zrce Beach’s hedonistic coastline for the entire week immediately after its Spring Break opening beach party.

With a roster of global DJs including co-promoters Vol2Cat, the prestigious beach venues will host parties spanning from dusk till dawn, soundtracked by a myriad of beats-based music like house, techno, trance, and more, continuing the sun-soaked momentum straight into the heart of summer.

Throw epic poolside mansion parties, boat parties, and beach parties, there’s a whole lot of partying to keep you dancing all week.

june9WORLD CLUB DOME

(9 – 11 June, Frankfurt, Germany)

World Club Dome has steadily risen to become one of Europe’s premier EDM and electronic music festivals, held at Deutsche Bank Park (formerly Commerzbank Arena) in Frankfurt am Main.

For its 10th birthday, WORLD CLUB DOME will now resurrect an enchanted island kingdom: Atlantis!

From 9 to 11 June 2023, the sunken island will rise from the depths of the sea and enchant Frankfurt’s Stadionwald. It was the Greek philosopher Plato who first mentioned a mystical island empire that is said to have perished in 9600 BC as a result of a natural disaster within one day and one night. Since then, legendary stories about the “Island of Atlas” have been popping up all over the world.

When the big city beats combine with the mystical stories of a sunken island, magic happens. The beat of a sunken metropolis welcomes visitors and immerses them in a fabulous world.

The festival has a party area of 700,000 square metres, with 180,000 expected world clubbers on more than 25 stages. From the small club format with a few hundred guests, to the huge main stage with 50,000 party people.

And performing amongst the extravagance will be some of the biggest DJs in EDM, trance, techno, hardstyle, minimal, hardcore and more, with the World Club Dome lineup featuring heavyweight artists such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Timmy Trumpet, Steve Aoki and Lil Pump.

Since its inaugural edition 2013, created by radio station BigCityBeats, the festival has grown to see 50,000 dance devotees revel in a spectrum of electronic music.

june10PARKLIFE FESTIVAL

(10 – 11 June, Manchester, UK)

Parklife Festival returns to the city’s Heaton Park from 10 – 11 June 2023 for a weekend alongside some of dance and alternative music’s foremost names.

Parklife Festival will once again curate a top-tier lineup across eight stages, including its prestigious main stage, that has featured sets from the likes of Liam Gallagher, The xx and Solange down the years.

Having started out back in 2010 as the curiously named Mad Ferret Festival in Rusholme’s Platt Fields Park, the festival rebranded to Parklife and moved to its current home in Heaton Park in 2012. It is now curated by a number of the UK’s foremost dance brands, including fellow Manchester event series The Warehouse Project and has gone onto welcome some of music’s biggest artists over the past decade, such as Liam Gallagher, Foals, Disclosure, The Chemical Brothers and The 1975.

And once the main festival has finished, festival-goers have historically had a number of after parties to choose from – named Afterlife – which have featured a selection of artists that performed during the main festival (as well as others) in venues across Manchester. Details of Afterlife are usually revealed closer to the festival.

june10VERKNIPT FESTIVAL

(10 – 11 June, Utrecht, Netherlands)

Verknipt Festival is a multi-genre electronic music festival in the Netherlands. Heading into its seventh year, the festival is a classic one day summer celebration.

Verknipt is a party organisation focusing on house, techno and dance music, and has been pushing the Dutch party scene forward since 2012, promoting local and up-and-coming talent in the process. Over the past years the organisation has shown her face all over the country, conquering the hearts of fans all over the Netherlands.

Previous lineups included Benny Rodrigues, Eats Everything, Claptone, Noir and many others.

Verknipt Festival takes the party outside and onto the scenic banks of the Strijkviertelplas for a full day of dancing in the sun.

(15 – 17 June, Barcelona, Spain)

Sonar Festival is a three-day electronic and advanced music festival in Barcelona, celebrating its 30th edition in 2023.

Sónar by Day will take place over three days – Thursday, Friday and Saturday – in Fira Montjuic, while Sónar by Night will once again take over Fira Gran Via on Friday and Saturday night.

SonarPasses, VIP SonarPasses and Delegate Passes provide admission to all three days and both nights of the festival. In addition VIP SonarPasses offer a series of benefits including fast-track access, exclusive VIP areas and less queues. Delegate Passes are aimed at professionals and attendees interested in attending exclusive Sónar+D activities for the creative, research and artistic communities.

june16INSTYTUT FESTIVAL

(16 – 18 June, Nowy Dwor Mazoviecki, Poland)

Instytut Festival Music & Art is a techno festival, held within the walls of 19th-century Modlin Garrison near Warsaw, Poland.

Returning in June 2023, the Polish techno brand has created an institution of electronic music in it’s short tenure as a musical festival, their reputation solidified by it’s imposing setting and equally imperious lineups; Richie Hawtin, Nina Kraviz, Chris Liebing, and Ben Klock have all joined the party in recent editions.

Modlin Garrison will host three unique stages, showing off Instytut’s unique passion for techno with state-of-the-art visual and sonic production to accompany a truly remarkable setting.

With over two decades of industry know-how, Instytut raves have seen loyal followers flock from all corners of Europe, and judging by the increasing success of their own festival, they’ll continue to do so.

june17KAMEHAMEHA FESTIVAL

(17 June, Offenburg, Germany)

Kamehameha Festival is a day-long, open-air electronic music festival in the small German city of Offenburg.

Co-promoted by Cosmopop, the masterminds behind global phenomenons Time Warp and Sonus, Kamehameha draws in some of techno and house music’s most celebrated DJs, seeing Charlotte de Witte, Loco Dice, Claptone, and Jamie Jones play beneath the searing sun last time around.

Aside from cutting-edge music, the Airfield Offenburg-Baden hosts vendors of international cuisine, and even a fairground to occupy your attention, so if it’s sunshine and techno you’re into, there’s no better way to spend your weekend.

(23 – 24 June, Madrid, Spain)

A Summer Story is a huge dance music festival held on the outskirts of Spain’s capital city. Despite being a fairly new festival, having only launched back in 2015, every year has seen absolutely huge lineups packed with stars from across the electronic music spectrum.

With big-room and EDM giants on one stage, favourites of the house and techno underground populating another, and representatives of harder styles also making their way onto the billing across the course of two days, the festival seeks to offer something to a diverse crowd of ravers.

A 200,000 square metre open space in Arganda del Rey, south east of Madrid city centre, Ciudad del Rock is hosts music festivals and shows throughout the year.

(23 – 25 June, Lille, Belgium)

Sunrise Festival Belgium is a three day dance festival with floating stages and picturesque surroundings.

The festival will celebrate its 10 Years Anniversary in 2023, with new stages, extra attractions, animations and entertainment, even more live acts and artists, the return of the legendary pool parties, and a brand new improved Sunfields Camping site.

The recreation area of De Lilse Bergen is located in a green oasis, surrounded by a beautiful beach and water, without a doubt the perfect location to kick off the festival season.

SAGA Festival is an innovative EDM music festival which returns to Romania’s capital Bucharest for its third edition in 2023.

june24POLLERWIESEN 30 YEARS

(24 June, Cologne, Germany)

PollerWiesen 30 Years is a techno festival held in Cologne’s Jugendpark in Germany. The 2023 edition is a celebration of 30 years of Open Air rave madness, to reminisce about the past, celebrate the now and look into a brighter future together.

The festival starts at Jugendpark during the day and continues at Bootshaus and Gewölbe until the next warm summer morning.

The Jugendpark in Cologne is located on a promontory at the rhine-riverside north the Zoobridge in the district Mülheim. Grassland, beach sections and open space with about 30000 sqm area, makes this park a perfect place for PollerWiesen.

(25 – 29 June, Novalja, Croatia)

Hideout Festival returns to Croatia’s Zrće Beach in June 2023 and will once again showcase its incredible dance lineup across some of Novalja’s most popular clubs, including Papaya, Kalypso, Aquarius and Noa.

Hideout Festival’s blistering five days will treat festival-goers to a non-stop lineup of house, techno, grime, garage and drum and bass.

In addition to its club parties, Hideout Festival’s programme also includes a number of boat parties on the lush Adriatic sea, as well as a now popular beach party.

Balaton Sound is one of the biggest open air electronic music festivals in Europe, taking place at the idillic Lake Balaton, in Hungary. The festival is attracting over 150,000 music lovers ready to party across its five days each year.

Balaton Sound Festival puts together an enviable lineup of the world’s biggest DJs, featuring the world’s best in EDM, house, techno and hip-hop artists over nine stages.

What better soundtrack do you need, when you can spend your days either dancing on boat parties, chilling out at the nearby food and drink spots, or sunbathing lakeside and truly making the most of the blissful weather.

Lisb-ON Jardim Sonoro a three-day celebration of underground electronic music held towards the end of each summer in the city of Lisbon, Portugal.

Now in its seventh year, the Jardim Sonoro has established itself as one of the most inviting and interesting electronic music festivals in the city, and country, with expansive lineups that regular feature favourites from house, techno, disco, funk and soul.

june30KAPPA FUTUR FESTIVAL

(30 June – 2 July, Turin, Italy)

Kappa Futur Festival is back for its 10th edition. The 10th edition will be their most ambitious event yet with top class production, an un-beatable line up and lots of special celebrations for the 10th birthday

The first wave of artists confirmed to take the stage with lots more to be announced, it’s already shaping up to be one of the most expansive and impressive line-ups to date.

Returning again for 3 days, the festival kicks off Friday 30 June with a whole host of top DJ talent. Highlights include Italian duo Tale Of Us presenting their much hyped Afterlife stage, plus the long-awaited return of Black Coffee and Major Lazer who last played the festival in 2015. Major Lazer goes B2B with Major League for an unmissable set plus making their festival debut and Swedish House Mafia hit the stage with a very special techno set, exclusively for Kappa Futur Festival.

On Day 2 don’t miss Detroit legend Carl Craig live, and following a huge set on main stage last summer, Diplo returns for his only Italian performance of 2023, to go back-to-back with the one and only Maceo Plex. Plus the iconic Fatboy Slim returns along with so many more.
