Let’s keep it up from where we were! The August 2023 series of the techno music event and techno festival calendar is ready. All the festivals organized this month that you can attend are listed below.
Chronologically, we compile the events that attract attention and are expected throughout the month for fans and share significant notifications with the public, such as lineups, ticket fees, etc.

(3 – 6 Aug, Cluj, Romania)
UNTOLD Festival is a Romanian dance giant and one of Europe’s most beloved electronic music festivals, welcoming over 300,000 fans each year to the city of Cluj-Napoca for four days of EDM, pop, and everything in between.
The last edition’s lineup featured sets from Robbie Williams, David Guetta, Stormzy, and Paul Kalkbrenner, demonstrating Untold’s variety and dedication to curating a lineup as diverse as can be. A serial award winner, UNTOLD took home the award for “Best Major Festival” three times in a row at the European Festival Awards, further cementing its status as a European heavyweight, despite only being on the scene since 2015.
But in the years since its inception, UNTOLD has become a mecca for dance fans from across the continent, drawn in by its impeccable lineups and ground-breaking visual production.
Solar Weekend Festival
(3 – 6 Aug, Roermond, Netherlands)
Solar Weekend is an electronic music festival in Roermond, the Netherlands. With a lineup anchored with DJs and genre giants, this festival has a little bit of everything.
Curated of everything from hip-hop to hardstyle across multiple stages, this festival holds its own special place in the country of house legends. Previous lineups have included Ben Klock, Len Flaki, Ben Sims, and Bizzey.
Solar Weekend Festival is set in the scenic Maasplassen, with plenty of activities, theatre, and sports to complement a unique musical experience.
Weekend Festival Finland
(4 – 6 Aug, Helsinki, Finland)
Weekend Festival is a hip-hop and dance music festival in the Finnish capital Helsinki. Bringing some of the very best artists from across the EDM, house, techno, and hip-hop spectrum, Weekend Festival is now one of the biggest electronic music festivals in Scandinavia.
Showcasing its lineup across multiple stages, Weekend Festival pairs its lineup with immense production and some incredible fireworks displays.
Les Plages Electroniques
(4 – 6 Aug, Cannes, France)
Les Plages Électroniques is an electronic music festival, held on the sands of Cannes’s most famous beach, the Palais des Festivals. The festival makes the city of Cannes the number 1 destination for electronic music and has become one of the biggest European beach parties.
This famous French gathering plays out over three days on the Beach, the Terrace, the Croisette, and the Rotonde, with a more diverse offering than ever before, as well as a stage on the sea. The brand new open water party is on a stage made from buoys with an aquatic DJ set to make the whole sea an open-air dancefloor.
The biggest names in electronic music, with the best of the French dance and EDM scene, are meeting at the foot of the Palais des Festivals for the biggest “beach party” of the Côte d’Azur. A megamix of unmissable headliners, artistic favorites, and refreshing discoveries for a cosmopolitan and trend-setting program.
The afterparties came back in 2019 with an additional afterparty on Sunday evening at the Rotonde of the Palais des Festival, which will be transformed into a pop-up club, a dance floor with a capacity of 3,000 people, where festival-goers can extend the party until 05:00 am.
NATURE ONE Festival
(4 – 6 Aug, Kastellaun, Germany)
Nature One is one of Germany’s biggest and most prestigious electronic music festivals, with an illustrious history of over 25 years as a pioneering party festival.
Held on a former NATO missile base in the west of the country near Kastellaun, the festival site is split into four head floors and nineteen club floors showcasing a myriad of sounds from over 350 DJs across the electronic music spectrum; techno, trance, house, harder styles, goa, drum and bass, up to the classics. You name it, there’s a rave for everyone.
The Raketenbasis Pydna missile base has seen the likes of Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Nina Kraviz, Paul Van Dyk, Charlotte De Witte, Angerfist, Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, and Chris Liebing all headline in recent editions.
NATURE ONE merges the best and most original artists altogether with electrifying visual production, and you can see just why over 60,000 people join the party year in and year out.
Diynamic Festival – London
(5 Aug, London, UK)
Diynamic Festival London takes place in a beautiful tree-lined carriageway within Finsbury Park. Catch Solomun play an extended 5-hour set in London this year with some very special guests.
Diynamic Festival London offers two stages with two big sound systems. This is the perfect opportunity to see Solomun in the capital this summer. Add to this mouth-watering street food, cold craft beers, and summer-inspired cocktails.
(9 – 13 Aug, Cuevas, Spain)
Dreambeach Festival Villaricos is a five-day dance music extravaganza held each summer on the Spanish coast.
A festival that doesn’t focus on just one style of electronic music, Dreambeach Festival’s lineup regularly boasts the world’s biggest DJs and performers from EDM, house, drum and bass, techno, hardstyle, and more.
Combine this caliber of performers with imposing stages standing tall on the Playa de Villaricos, all kitted with spectacular lighting, sound systems, and production, and the result is a festival that offers dance music fans to party on a truly enormous scale.
Medusa Sunbeach Festival
(9 – 14 Aug, Cullera, Spain)
Medusa Sunbeach Festival is a huge electronic music festival held in the Spanish coastal town of Cullera. Across six days, visually spectacular stages play host to a lineup of superstars from the worlds of EDM, house, hardstyle, and techno.
Besides the stars of EDM, house, techno, trance, and more, the Medusa Sunbeach Festival also invests heavily in the production on display, with spectacular staging constructed on the golden sands, built around the theme for each edition.
Cullera is a Spanish coastal town located around 40 km to the south of Valencia. The Medusa Sunbeach Festival takes place on the sands of the Playa de Cullera.
Neopop Electronic Music Festival
(10 – 12 Aug, Viana do Castelo, Portugal)
Neopop Electronic Music Festival is one of Portugal’s most respected electronic music festivals, held in the coastal town of Viana do Castelo.
Each summer, Neopop Electronic Music Festival invites a lineup packed with techno royalty to the historic port, for three days of partying and musical appreciation, metres from the Atlantic Ocean.
With live performances and DJ sets from some of the underground’s most exciting talent, Neopop Electronic Music Festival has become a bucket-list festival for techno fans across the continent, looking to experience their favorite sounds in a beautiful historic setting.
Once Portugal’s gateway to trade and commerce, the port town of Viana do Castelo is now a place known for its thriving restaurants and cultural attractions that link back to its rich naval history.
(10 – 15 Aug, Budapest, Hungary)
Sziget Festival is a Hungarian music festival and one of Europe’s most famous. Each summer, it brings an incredible and diverse lineup of musical superstars to Óbuda Island in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.
Spread over a remarkable six days, Sziget Festival’s genre-spanning lineup covers everything from rock, indie, and pop through to all varieties of dance music. In its acclaimed 28 edition history, Sziget Festival has seen main stage sets from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Kendrick Lamar, Muse, Ed Sheeran, and Rihanna.
But Sziget Festival doesn’t stop at just the music, with the Hungarian festival also laying on all kinds of other activities for festival-goers to enjoy or take part in, such as a cinema, a theatre, contemporary circus shows, sporting events, and even a beach along the Danube in which you can swim in.
(13 – 16 Aug, Rabat, Malta)
Glitch Festival is an unmissable house and techno experience on the beautiful island of Malta.
Bringing with them a lineup of mainstay and underground house maestros and techno titans, Glitch Festival showcases its on-point lineup across rooftop pool parties, secret rave caves, chaotic boat parties, and inspiring headline sets at its self-proclaimed house and techno fortress.
Beyond this sonic adventure, festival-goers are encouraged to explore the rest of the island and what is one of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes, featuring stunning beaches, caves, cultural ruins, and historical towns like Valletta and Mdina.
(17 – 20 Aug, Asturias, Spain)
Aquasella Festival is a long-running electronic music festival, held across a summer weekend in rural northern Spain. For more than twenty years, the Aquasella Festival has played host to an array of underground house and techno’s most respected purveyors, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz, Laurent Garnier, and Ben Klock, to name just a few.
A huge part of the Aquasella Festival’s appeal, beyond the consistently strong lineups, is its beautiful rural setting close to the Asturian village of Arriondas and the verdant hills and meadows, that serve as the backdrop for the intimate three-day party.
The Aquasella Festival takes place at the foot of the rolling green hills, that surround the village of Arriondas in northern Spain, around 60 km east of Oviedo.
(18 – 20 Aug, Echelon, Germany)
Echelon Festival is a techno and house music festival in Germany. Year after year, the Echelon Festival brings together the finest representatives of local and international techno and electronic music scene, for the largest electronic open-air festival in South Germany.
The Echelon Festival is located in the prime location of the Echelon surveillance station with the iconic domes in Bad Aibling, just south of Munich. For three days, the Echelon Festival will host the hottest international artists of most electronic music styles with extensive camping grounds, distinctive stages, and insane show elements at hand for an absolute mind-boggling experience.
With five impressive and imposing stages all displaying variations of electronic music ranging from techno to house and beyond, what’s now become commonplace is the dizzying state-of-the-art visual and sonic production set amongst the location’s iconic radar domes with the Bavarian mountains as its backdrop, culminating in a rave of interstellar proportions.
Secret Project – Carl Cox

Secret Project presents Carl Cox Hybrid Live, a new event from Secret Project heading again in Amsterdam in August 2023.

Secret Project is an emerging festival born in the prospering underground scene of downtown Los Angeles. Fusing art, technology, and exceptionally curated house and techno music, the festival, known for its daytime moments, is ready to grow beyond its origin. With successful editions in LA, Miami, Amsterdam, and Portugal, Secret Project unites music lovers alike in new cities where there are no shortages of dance floors.
(20 – 24 Aug, Novalja, Croatia)
Sonus Festival is a famous 5-day techno party at Zrce Beach, right at the Croatian shores on Pag Island. The Sonus Festival is your perfect summer vacation paired with the best parties the electronic music world has to offer. The legendary creators behind Time Warp have steered the ship to the Croatian coast, for one of Europe’s most celebrated house and techno festivals.
Sonus Festival occupies Zrce’s coastal clubs Aquarius, Kalypso, Noa, and Papaya for both day and night stages, while boat parties spread the vibe across the sparkling Adriatic Sea. (23 – 27 Aug, Marseille, France)
Delta Festival is a three-day music, sport, and arts festival, taking place in the new beachside location of Les Plages du Prado in Marseille.
In 2022, Delta Festival hosted some of the hottest names in dance music, with the likes of Carl Cox, Deborah de Luca, Sean Paul, and Vini Vici heading up the bill.
Combine this with sun-soaked sports such as water sports and zorbing, and you have the recipe for a fun-fuelled summer festival.
Creamfields North Festival
(24 – 27 Aug, Warrington, UK)
Creamfields North Festival is one of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals. Born in 1998, the original dance festival set out to provide the clubbing world with a bespoke large-scale outdoor event, putting DJs center stage for the first time. The festival has grown from a 25,000-capacity one-day show to the four-day camping behemoth it is today, attracting sell-out crowds of 70,000.
Renowned for attracting the biggest names in electronic music, huge production, and iconic staging, each year features over 300 artists performing across 30 stages over the four-day weekend. Some of the big-name artists who have performed over the years include Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, Fatboy Slim, Faithless, Armin van Buuren and many more.
Covering every genre under the electronic music banner, it’s no surprise that Creamfields North Festival has won an array of awards over the years, including “Best Dance Event” and “Best Major Festival“.
We Are FSTVL – London
(25 – 27 Aug, Upminster, UK)
We Are FSTVL, a London dance music festival curated by some of the scene’s most established brands, such as Defected, ABODE, and Glitterbox. In 2023 the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with an extra day to get the party started. Since its debut in 2013, the award-winning festival continues to evolve into one of the UK’s most popular electronic festivals.
Its lineup stretches from house and techno all the way to grime, garage, and drum and bass, showcasing over 150 of the best electronic dance acts across eight stages, with each arena having its own distinctive identity.
Summer Peak Festival

Summer Peak Festival is a week-long electronic music festival, taking place at Zrce Beach, in 4 of the world’s best beach clubs, all of which have been voted in the Top 40 of the DJ MAG Top 100 Club list.
Taking place in and amongst Zrce Beach’s famed coastal clubs, the Summer Peak Festival ensures the sun-soaked summer vibes last just a little bit longer, seeing out the final week of August in style.
Inviting EDM, house, and techno’s most prestigious artists to the beach clubs by night, and plenty of lazy poolside parties by day, there’s something for everyone; you’ll never want summer to end.

Dimensions Festival is heading down the Croatian coast, taking place across two stunning locations, the idyllic Garden Resort in Tisno and Barbarellas Discotheque.
