1- What inspires you the most in your life, and how do you incorporate these sources of inspiration in your creative process?
Answer: “I’m getting inspired mostly by art — all kinds of art but mostly movies. I love cinema and movie music; I think this has always been one of my biggest inspirations. But I also getting inspired by my own thoughts. I have a very philosophic nature, and I love being alone with my thoughts. I am also inspired by nature. For example, a hike in the mountain can inspire me a lot. I also get inspired by social interactions – a good motivational conversation with a friend can also inspire me a lot.”
2- What period or event in your artistic journey has had the most significant impact on you?
Answer: “This is the opening of my label Set About Music. This gave me the freedom to express my musical taste on another level and made me understand the industry from another point of view.”
3- Which three words would you use to describe your life, and why?
Answer: “Excitement, excitement, excitement! Because I do what I love, for which I’m very grateful.”
4- Can you share some insights about the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career and how you overcame them?
Answer: “I think the biggest challenge was to cross the line between local and international artists. I saw a lot of misery in my life. There were moments when I didn’t have money for food, literally. Almost nobody believed in me, and it was a huge mental challenge to stay inspired and continue doing what I believed in. Here, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to my mother and my brother, who have always believed in me and supported me. Love you guys! But, believe it or not, for me, it’s still a huge challenge to be where I am and to do what I love. Looking through the colorful social media glasses, one can’t understand how much it actually takes to be there.”
5- How do you aim to interact and communicate with your audience or viewers throughout your life?
Answer: “I’ve always been trying to show the real me to my audience. Maybe sometimes influenced by emotions and different situations, I fail to do it, but I think showing your true self is the only way to communicate successfully not only with fans but with ppl in general.”
7- Which of your works holds a special meaning for you and why?
Answer: “It’s interesting because this meaning changes over time for most of the projects, which is normal, but for some special ones, I really hold the same special feeling all the time. One of those projects is “My Washing Machine Gettin’ Mad”. A track that has been released on the DeadMau5 label Maustrap. Actually, it’s not about the track (if I have to be honest, I hate this track right now), but because of the video we made. It was one of the most challenging projects in my career because we started it before the pandemic. I invested all my money in this video, and when COVID came, I had no money, no gigs, and a very difficult video to finish in a very hostile environment. Somehow I finished the video, enjoyed the whole process very very much and I’m very proud of how I handled the situation which of course helped me a lot of friends.”
8- What are your thoughts on the role and impact of your life in society?
Answer: “I spent so many hours thinking about the act of doing art. And I think this is one of the most selfish acts a human can do. Yes, this act usually brings a lot of joy and positive feelings to humanity, but this is not the driving intention of the creator/artist. I don’t do music because of society, and I really hate when some artists say that they are doing art because of the people. Art is something very specific, and you will never wanna do it because of somebody else. Artists will always do art to basically satisfy their own needs of doing art. Never heard of somebody who is not interested in music but starts doing it because he just wants to make people happy with his songs. This is just not possible. An artist will always do their art no matter what. I’ll always do my art, no matter if that makes me poor, rich, or stupid. For me, doing music is like breathing and drinking water, literally, and I can only hope this process brings happiness and positive vibes to the others around me.”
9- What does your creative process look like, and do you have any routines or rituals when working on a piece?
Answer: “I have no rituals. Sometimes, the process is very chaotic, and sometimes, everything is super organized. With me, this is very random. Depends on the situation, my mood, and my intentions.”
