Top 100 DJs List for 2021 Announced by DJ Mag

The list of the best DJs of the year, organized by DJ Mag that is voted by the fans, has been resulted.

This year’s award announcement was made at the Amsterdam Music Festival and over 1 million users participated in the voting. After a long time, the awards had the opportunity to be delivered by hand. Previously, it was postponed due to the danger of the virus.

Number one on the list, the star name still remained unchanged. David Guetta is voted #1 DJ of the year by fans.

After a long period, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are not included in the top 3, while Martin Garrix #2 and Armin van Buuren are ranked #3 this year.

The name of the year, rising star who made the list, is MORTEN. He influenced the whole music world with his futuristic rave pieces. He is listed at #39 in his first year.

As every year, DJ Mag held to organize Virtual Festivals every weekend during the entire voting period. The broadcasts featuring big names reached around 6 million views in total. On the award presentation night, the Amsterdam Music Festival broadcasted by AFAS Live had the opportunity to watch live performances of names such as Afrojack, Alan Walker, Armin van Buuren, Avalan, Christina Novelli, Don Diablo, Carnage/GORDO, Mariana BO, MORTEN, Oliver Heldens and W&W.

When we look at the statistics, we can easily say that the effect of the pandemic period still continues and this is reflected in the voting. Looking at the number of votes, it is seen that there is a voting mass that reached the same number as last year. When we look at the age scale, it is obvious that the young and clubber population has a large share. The top 40% of the voters are between the ages of 18-24, while the other 40% are between the ages of 25-34, the remained is shared between the elder fans. Looking at the voting results, the fact that the rankings did not change much shows that; the result of the closure of clubs and many festivals, people preferred the same names in the voting. In all probability fans were only able to vote based on their experience through live broadcasts or streams.
