Tomorrowland, the globally renowned music festival held in Flanders, significantly boosts the economy beyond the Boom area where it takes place. Notably, Brussels hotels experienced a surge, with over 60,000 overnight stays booked during the two weekends of the festival.

This event brings immense joy to hoteliers and greatly contributes to the hotel sector’s turnover in July.

Rodolphe Van Weyenbergh of the Brussels Hotel Association emphasized that Tomorrowland has a substantial impact on the hotel industry, making it the foremost festival for the sector.

Hotels in Brussels, Belgium, anticipate a 90% occupancy rate throughout the festival. With 40 partner hotels in the capital, the positive effects ripple across the entire industry. Van Weyenbergh highlighted that not only do hotels benefit, but the tourism sector as a whole sees a significant uptick.

Brussels Airlines, for instance, is set to transport more than 14,000 festivalgoers this year. Many international attendees arrive before the festival begins, exploring other Belgian cities like Bruges and Ghent. For those based in Brussels, 160 daily shuttles offer convenient transport to Boom.

Tomorrowland spokeswoman Debby Wilmsen shared that this year’s festival welcomes visitors from over 120 countries;

They’ve brought flags from their home countries, which will be combined into one giant flag for a spectacular display at the festival.

She said. During the week, festivalgoers in Brussels can enjoy various relaxing activities at Osseghem Park in Laeken, such as yoga and massages. Additionally, a concert featuring a symphony orchestra playing dance classics is scheduled at the Vaudeville Theatre.
