Electric Sunsets by Genelec (Kuopio, Finland) 2027

Electric Sunsets by Genelec arrives at Kuopio Harbour on 27 and 28 August 2027, running two days of electronic music on the waterfront in eastern Finland. The festival is backed by Genelec, the Finnish studio monitor manufacturer based nearby in Iisalmi, which explains the emphasis the organisers place on sound quality across three distinct zones on the harbour site.

What sets it apart is the narrative layer. The festival is guided by Suru Bae, a human like robot character abandoned from a tech lab for being too emotional, whose story runs through the event as songs, 3D animated episodes and live staging. Each edition reveals a new chapter of Suru’s Saga, and the stages carry names from the same world: the Error 404 Stage and the Tech Lab Stage. Albatrossi and Toivo Laiva are among the first artists confirmed for the Saturday.

Blind bird tickets opened at 69 euros through Tiketti. Alongside the music there is Electric Loyly, a sauna strand that is close to compulsory in Finland, an Electric Reset wellness area, workshops and a three on three street floorball tournament. The Original Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi sits beside the harbour market square, minutes from the site. Kuopio is an hour from Helsinki by air. It is a Finnish music festival built around a story as much as a bill.
