    About

From the moment you cross the threshold into Groene Heuvels at Beuningen between 3-5 July 2026, Down The Rabbit Hole will transform into a vibrant, shape-shifting realm where music, art and nature entwine in unexpected ways. What begins as a whimsical summer escape soon unfurls into a three-day odyssey of discovery, where every corner of the music festival grounds feels alive with possibility.

By day the atmosphere hums with light — wandering between stages, stumbling on secret forest discos, or pausing for an impromptu acoustic set under a shady tree. As dusk deepens, the energy shifts: stages flicker to life, lasers carve through mist, and walls of sound rise like living sculptures. This is not just a music festival; it’s a living, breathing art installation built around sound.

Last year’s edition offered a glimpse of the breadth Down The Rabbit Hole is capable of: Massive Attack and Underworld held court on the main stage, while FKA twigs, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Wet Leg, Bloc Party and JPEGMAFIA filled the lineup with sharp edges and soulful resonance. Artists moved freely between main stages like Hotot, Teddy Widder and Fuzzy Lop — each named for breeds of rabbit — and more intimate tents like Rex and The Bizarre, where dance, experimental and electronic sounds intertwined.

In 2026, expect even more ambition. The festival planners are deepening that signature balance between bold headliners and emerging voices, while also pushing the limits of immersive staging. Picture dramatic architectural installations, projection-mapped surfaces that shift to the beat, hidden performance zones that reveal themselves only when the timing is right, and soundscapes that rebound off wooded paths or open meadows. The terrain itself becomes a canvas: hills, trees, and glades will host moments to stumble into, from late-night techno caves to ambient listening lounges.

Schedules will likely balance late sets with morning “sunrise sessions,” giving you the freedom to roam or resist hard curfews. The lineup — always curated with a spirit of surprise — may again mix legends and youthful disruptors, inviting you to step outside familiar names and chance upon something new. In recent years, the festival roster ranged from the deeply revered (Patti Smith, Iggy Pop) to the forward-leaning (JPEGMAFIA, Wet Leg) and the atmospheric (Underworld, Bloc Party).

The site itself lies in a rolling stretch between the Maas and Waal rivers, creating a gently contoured festival landscape. Between sets you might swim in nearby waters, browse global food stalls, nap in hidden hammocks, or wander into pop-up theatre performances. Camping options range from basic tents to more luxurious glamping setups, and pathways between stages are designed to surprise — one moment you’re in a field bathed in daylight, the next you’re descending into a cavernous tent where visuals and sound conspire to disorient.

What will make Down The Rabbit Hole 2026 feel truly distinctive is how it weaves these elements together — where the physical site, the art direction, and the musical programming are not separate, but one continuous gesture. Expect moments where you stop in your tracks, transfixed by a visual rupture; times when the sky and the beat align so perfectly that you forget you’re at a festival at all; intervals when you drift to the edge of the grounds and discover a hidden set under starlight.

Whether you come for the headliners or the unannounced wanderers, whether you sleep under canvas or roam until dawn, Down The Rabbit Hole 2026 promises not just concerts, but a shifting world you lose yourself in, one thrilling beat at a time.
